I think it should be for 7,8 or 9 year olds because it has big witting and is easy to read and Michael morpurgo did a good job. I normally don't get along with Michael morpurgo though I relaly love it. My favret character is the butter fly loin it realyike the story line. I love this book although it is emotional, it is a lovely book. My sister read me this book and it was amazing. Tamzin from Year 7, Rossington All Saints School:

I recommend this book for people that enjoy Morpurgo's fantastic novels and people who like to be warmed at the tips. this book got me emotionally and made me cry so much. Bertie was a very warm-hearted character. My favourite character was the old women because she was full of mystery. This is a beautiful book! Its full of emotion and joy that warms you to the tip of your toes like the rest of Michel Morpurgo's books. Millie from Year 6, Saltersgate Junior School: As usual, Michael Morpurgo made his book relatable and he wrote as if he had been there as if he was in the story! Most of his books are amazing but this one was incredibly gripping. This book was amazingly creative but it was also extremely emotional. Jade from Year 7, Rossington All Saints School: Read this book if you want to feel all sorts of emotions!!! Although at the beginning Bertie is cheeky, towards the end he becomes sadder and sadder because he has to be sent away to school. I rate this book 8 out of 10 because it is a great book but i think it could be better in some parts. Even though it had a sad ending, I felt all emotions through this book! It was sooo amazing, I read it in a day! I loved this book: the bond between the boy and the lion was impenetrable. I really liked the Butterfly Lion because it is a mix of feelings, some bits were sad and other bits were really good.In Butterfly Lion the little boy finds a baby lion and decides to take it home and look after it but one day the mother and father tell him that he has to go to school and sell his lion! This book is about how the little boy grows up without his lion and how he went on a quest to go and find him. My favourite character is Bertie a warm-hearted, kind boy who is the main person in the story.Īll in all I know this book is great for everyone at all ages.Ĭhloe from Year 5, Saltersgate Junior School: I could not put it down! I think that this book would got both boys and girls to the heart and could fill your soul with joy. I also found that some of this novel left me on an amazingly jaw-dropping cliff-hanger. I rate this brilliant book a fabulous TEN OUT OF TEN because it really got to me - emotionally - and made me cry at the end! I found it very exciting, sad (in a good way) and very, very detailed in a majority of the book.
